Nothing to Do, Nowhere to Go. Kater D.

30.09.-17.10.2026

Opening: 26.09.2026 | 18:00

Davy Art Space, Lindengasse 51, 1070 Vienna

Kater D. works across painting, printmaking, textiles and collage. Her work draws on an ever-growing personal archive of photographs, sketches, fabrics and everyday found materials. From these, she creates tactile visual worlds where personal memories merge with intuitive, abstract forms.

In Nothing to Do, Nowhere to Go, Kater D. presents new works from her series Über das Zuhause (On Home), which explores the home as a space of retreat and comfort. The works take their cues from observations and fragments of everyday life: a cat dozing, crumpled bed sheets, or organic patterns such as mold, which she photographs and translates into her own visual language. Kater D. is particularly interested in the apparent contradiction between stillness and change: What happens while we do nothing? The idea of “bed rotting” takes on a new meaning here – even at rest, things continue to shift and evolve.

For the exhibition, we are presenting a limited screen print edition by Kater D., produced in collaboration with Siebdruckatelier.
