Rudolf Fitz constructs fictional realities rooted in fragments of the urban landscape — old storefronts, fading lettering, and overlooked details of the street. His works evoke a sense of another time, stirring childhood memories and quiet longings. While references to his hometown of Vienna often surface, his imagery draws on a wide range of influences and remains open, timeless, and independent of place.

Working primarily with oil paint, Fitz produces both small- and large-format canvases, as well as works on paper. His practice is complemented by regular releases of screen prints and fine art prints, issued in carefully limited editions.
